Taking photos in Competition

~When taking pictures of scorable bass, here are several rules/tips to follow:

-
It is helpful to use gloves when holding fish in place for photo. This will help prevent the fishes sharp spines on its dorsal fin from impaling your fingers. Gloves are not required, but recommended.
-
After landing the fish (in a net or by flipping it into your kayak/grabbing), allow the fish to settle down and relax. This will make photo taking much easier, and decrease possibility of fish flopping off the board.
-
When taking a photo of a scorable bass, there are several rules to follow:

-
The bass must measure at least 12" to be eligible for scoring.
-
The tournament identifier must be present somewhere in the photo (wrist or on board). The identifier is obtained before the start of the tournament at check-in.
-
The photo must be of best attainable quality for proper scoring.
-
The bass may have the mouth open or closed, as long as the lower/upper jaw is touching the front board. (see photo above for correct picture)
-
The same fish cannot be submitted twice, and multiple pictures of same fish must be deleted before showing pictures to tournament directors.
-
If you happen to have a special day, a 5 fish limit is our method of determining a winner. The largest 5 fish limit (by total length) wins the tournament. In rare instances, a 4 fish limit is sometimes larger than a 5 fish limit, and the angler with the largest total of inches would win. If no limits are caught, the angler with the most cumulative inches at the end of the tournament would win. Sometimes 2 fish wins tournaments!
-
If you happen to be on fire and catch more than 5 scorable bass, an angler may "cull" smaller fish photos and replace them with larger fish photos.
